K. Antonopoulos Vineyards
“With big dreams come big responsibilities.” This was the vision of Konstantinos Antonopoulos, founder of Antonopoulos K. Vineyards. It was Christmas 1983 when he started cultivating the vineyard in the Vasiliko region of Achaia, a dream that would come true. He chose the location of the vineyard because of its altitude, northern orientation, natural wind protection and, above all, the sandy, clay soil with sufficient groundwater. He planted local and international varieties.
Castro Clauss
The entire process is made by hand with small oak vintners, a wooden hydraulic hand press and without electricity, recreating the ancient methods of winemaking with modern scale of winemaking and minimal intervention.
Achaia Clauss
The vineyard is located in the northern part of the Peloponnese, more precisely in the southwestern part of Patras, at the foot of Panachaikou Mountain. The vineyards lie in a flat valley and are surrounded by two rivers. The region's microclimate has evolved over the years and can now be characterized as significantly different than the rest of the region. The density of mountains contributes to the water content of the soil over time through their roots.
